It all started when John Atherton began working at General Elevator Sales and Service and met Larry Hubbard Jr. After leaving General Elevator Sales and Service to live in Ohio for a year. John made his way back down to Florida, where he decided he would start an elevator company of his own in the spring of 2012. Then later he brought Larry in as a managing partner, and well, the rest is history!

John founded General Elevator Solutions in 2012. After graduating from Ohio State University with an A.S. degree in Electronics, he worked 15 years in the industrial electro-mechanical industry, where this experience directly transitioned him into the elevator industry. Before founding GES, John worked as a Service Foreman for General Elevator Sales and Service and as a Service Technician for West Coast Elevator. He currently is a Certificate of Competency and Certified Elevator Technician cardholder for the State of Florida.
LARRY HUBBARD JR, QEI MANAGING PARTNER
After graduating from DeVry University with a B.S. in Electronic Engineering, he started his elevator career in 1990 with ABELL Elevator International as a Service Technician, where he was soon promoted to Branch Manager. Between 2003 and 2012, Hubbard was Branch Manager for General Elevator Sales and Services. He joined GES in December 2012 and became a Managing Partner in 2015. He is a Certificate of Competency and Certified Elevator Technician cardholder for the State of Florida and a NAESA International Qualified Elevator Inspector.
